WT Expression Microarrays - User Instructions

Sample Registration:

Users need to register their samples through using our on-line form. Please make sure to read the instructions carefully and to fill the form completely before submitting it to us.

Please email completed forms to

It is highly recommended and strongly encouraged for you to have a consultation with us prior to commencing a study. With ever-changing technology and constant improvements and updates to both labeling methods and arrays, we want to make sure you are selecting the best approach for your studies.
Contact Martina Veigl for a consult.

How to Bring Samples:

Standard Affymetrix protocols for either cartridge and peg formats, or WT and 3' assay chemistry, are performed with 150 ng of total RNA in 3 ul of RNase free or DEPC treated water. This corresponds to 50ng/ul. Although these assays only require 3ul, we recommend that you bring over a minimum of 5ul, but preferably, 10ul.

If you cannot meet the 50ng/ul requirement, these assays can be performed with concentrations as low as 17 ng/ul, and a minimum volume of 5 ul. However, we have found when the reaction is initiated with a lower quantity of input RNA, success is not consistently achieved.

Please note that these guidelines pertain only to RNA isolated from fresh or frozen tissue. If you have RNA quantities that are less concentrated than 17ng/ul, OR if you have RNA isolated from FFPE samples, please refer to the following document for guidelines for submitting your samples.
